It took us 7 years to take the leap. We don't want that happening to anyone else. Here's why we built Dareviz.
Like a lot of people, we dreamt of travelling to the far side of the world. But between the fear of the unknown, how complicated it all was to organise and never having the time to plan it properly... we kept putting it off. Again and again. For a little over seven years...
We don't want that happening to people any more. Nobody should have to wait that long to live out their travel dreams.
When we finally decided to go to Japan, we built an exhaustive Notion template to organise the trip. Every restaurant, every temple, every place to stay went into it. The problem? We spent more time filling in boxes than enjoying the trip itself. And for all that effort, we still forgot plenty of things.
We filled things in, we organised, we sorted... and in the end it felt like work rather than travel.
We set off for a year of travelling in Australia. And that's when it clicked: this can't go on. We don't want to spend our time constantly checking details online, hunting for things to do nearby, comparing options for hours on end. We want to live our trip, not endure it.
It was in Australia that we said: someone has to solve this. And if nobody does, we'll do it ourselves.
We want organising a trip to take about as much effort as writing a shopping list. With the advice on top, because a shopping list never tells you what to put on it.
We built the app we'd have loved to have 7 years ago. The one that would have got us going sooner, with less worry and a lot more fun.
